Please read this entire document before submitting a request. If it’s obvious you didn’t, your email will be deleted without consideration.

Due to the high volume of requests we get vs. the limited number of reviewers we have, we are unable to respond to every single request we receive. If we are interested in considering something for coverage on Ink Heist, we will be in touch. If neither Rich or Shane has the time for something we’re interested in considering, we will try to find another one of our contributors to take it on. Please note the word “consider.” Acceptance of a work does not guarantee a review, just that we will in good faith consider it for such. If we take something on and we do not finish (DNF) it, we will not review it.

NOTE: The primary reason we DNF a book is editing. If your editing sucks, you don’t love your book enough to make us want to love it. If your cover sucks, it’ll also be a hard sell for the same reason. The other most common reason for a DNF: you sent us a PDF, which we do not accept under any but the most special of circumstances.

Please include the following in the body of your email:

  • Type of material (book, comic, graphic novel)
  • Title of the work
  • Release Date
  • Publisher
  • Page Count
  • Genre
  • Synopsis/Description

Shane only takes on new material by request. Thank you for understanding

Rich’s Submission Status: OPEN TO SUBMISSIONS AT THIS TIME

Rich’s Accepted Formats (in order of preference): Print, Kindle. He doesn’t accept PDFs except under special circumstances.

What Rich will review in film, fiction, or comics/graphic novels: Horror, crime, noir, neo-noir, Sci-Fi (dark), nonfiction (selectively), literary fiction, books about the craft of writing, mystery, and thrillers.

If your work meets the required criteria, please send us an email using the contact address at the bottom of this page. If you haven’t heard from us in two weeks, feel free to touch base again, but if you don’t hear from us after a second time, it means we aren’t interested in considering it at that time.
