Episode 3.26 – Back From the Dead…Again

Welcome to the Ink Heist podcast, which is devoted to dark genre fiction, featuring hosts Rich Duncan, Shane Douglas Keene, and a whole bevy of authors and other interesting guests for your listening and enlightening pleasure. We are a very irreverent, often linguistically explicit broadcast so we highly recommend you use discretion when listening around easily influenced young ones or anyone who is easily offended. We would like to thank the band Secret Smoker for allowing us to use their song “Crushed by Air” to kick-off and finish the podcast.

This week on the podcast we had a great conversation with…ourselves! It’s been a few episodes since our last solo show and we had a short break in our schedule, so we decided to enjoy a nice summer weekend with some drinks, jokes, and recommendations! We’ve been reading a ton of great books lately along with our stead diet of genre film and TV and decided this week would be the perfect time to share some of that with our listeners in a different format we’ve done in the past. We also address some behind-the-scenes stuff with the podcast, Shotgun Logic, self-editing work and our usual ramblings. Below, you’ll find a list of some of the things we talked about in this episode.

BOOKS
Beverley Lee The House of Little Bones
Catherine McCarthy Immortelle
Eric LaRocca Things Have Gotten Worse Since We Last Spoke
Christina Henry Near The Bone
The work of Ross Jeffery

FILMS/TV
The Evil Next Door (VOD)
Fear Street Part 1: 1994 (Netflix)
Katla (Netflix)
The Queen of Black Magic (Shudder, 2020)

We had a great time recording this episode and just hanging out. We hope you guys enjoy the conversation as much as we did and find a few more things to throw on your watchlists and TBR piles! Newest Episode:
