News: Buzz Book Expo 2020, August 22-23

This year has been a trying time for all of us as we adjust to a new way of life in the face of a global pandemic, but if there’s a silver lining to the chaos we find ourselves in, it’s people finding ways to use technology to bring us all together. In the writing community, we’ve seen people rally together to host live readings, conventions, and release parties free of charge and open to anyone who wants to participate. It’s inspiring to see people dedicate their own time to bring people together and bring book events to those who might not otherwise get a chance to attend a live event.

One of the events we’re really excited about is the Buzz Book Expo, which will livestream this weekend, August 22-23. The Buzz Book Expo is an online book expo put together by a committee of incredibly talented, hardworking people in the horror industry: Mary SanGiovanni, Dave Thomas, Matt Wildasin, Katie Southard, Richard Gerlach and Patrick McDonough. The goal of the expo is to give publishers from around the world the chance to talk about their new releases for the upcoming year and to give a platform to diverse voices. Publishers will be given 50 minute slots to host a ton of cool events like presentations of their new releases, hold a Q&A, interview the writers of their new releases, and much more. The list of publishers participating are among some of the best in the genre and it’s guaranteed to be a great time. For a list of participating publishers, times and the livestream link, head on over to the Buzz Book Expo website. If you can’t make the livestream, the event will be recorded for you to check out at a later date.
